On 1 January 2018, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange raised scholarship rates for foreigners studying in Poland.
The changes also apply to grant schemes sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Starting in early 2018, scholarship holders of the Stefan Batory and Ignacy Łukasiewicz Scholarship Programmes will be receiving PLN 1,250 for B.A. (first cycle) studies, PLN 1,500 for M.A. (second cycle) studies, and PLN 2,400 for PhD (third cycle) studies respectively.
Scholarship rates were raised to make living in Poland for foreign students easier and more comfortable and thus to promote Poland as an attractive place to study and to conduct research. Poland hopes to attract more foreign students.
