Foundation of the computer laboratory at the “Princess Basma primary School for Boys and Girls” in Aqaba

The Princess Basma Primary School for Boys and Girls is situated in an impoverished district of the city of Aqaba, Jordan. Most pupils come from low-income or very poor families. The children of Syrian refugees living in Aqaba also attend the school. The school has been preparing a computer lab, which still lacks the computer equipment.

Education offered by the school affords children from impoverished backgrounds an opportunity to get basic education. Pupils who attend the school have less chance of getting education than other children. A school with modern equipment affords them an opportunity to acquire certain skills and develop further.

The European Union strategy towards the Middle East identifies education as a priority support sector. The school was designated by the Aqaba Governor’s Office as the beneficiary of the aid.
