We hereby confirm that the sixth edition of the European Development Days (EDD) will take place on 15 and 16 December 2011 in Warsaw. The EDD will be hosted in the Copernicus Science Centre (CSC) - one of the most modern science conferences centre in Europe.
Our key theme will be ‘development and democracy' which is particularly pertinent given recent events in Belarus, North Africa, Syria and Sudan. We will also focus on aid effectiveness as the EDD will take place after the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, Korea.
The first EDD stakeholders' meeting took place on 7 July 2011 in Brussels. Here it was announced that 10 out of 18 high level panels would be organized by our external partners via open competition. All interested parties are requested to send their proposals for high level panels between 25 July and 19 August 2011 through the profile page on the EDD website: http://register.eudevdays.eu/index_en_2.asp
Additional information and rules can be found on the web site http://eudevdays.eu/useful_documents_en.cfm in the ‘Minutes - Stakeholder Meeting - 7 July 2011' folder (active after logging into your profile).
We are pleased to host a special EDD side event ‘The 2nd EDITION of the HumanDOC International Documentary Film Festival - GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT IN CINEMA'. The winner of the Film Festival will be announced during the EDD event in CSC. More information: http://festival.humandoc.net/en/
