Development of the rural areas y supporting of community initiatives – renovation works in gymnasium from Balanesti village
Balanesti is a village in the Nisporeni District in central Moldova. It is located close to the Balanesti Hill, the highest elevation in the country (430 meters above sea level) and is inhabited by around 3 000 people.
As a result of the renovation works carried out in the local lower secondary school, proper sanitary conditions in the school canteen were guaranteed for freshman students. An electric stove and sets of dishes were bought, as well as kitchen and canteen furniture. 7 new windows and 8 doors were installed in order to improve thermal insulation in the building, consequently leading to improvement of learning conditions for students. Reduction of heating costs and water bills in the building was an additional benefit of the works done in the school, possible due to the purchase and installation of a solar collector.
Total project value exceeded 50 000 pln with Polish Aid co-financing in the amount of 41 749 pln (for the purpose of conversion 1 euro = 4,1749 pln).
